Review: Kerri Chandler Presents Kaoz

The day we saw King Kerri Chandler present ‘Kaoz’ announced for Printworks – London was a very good day. An abundance of A-list DJ’s all billed on one line up was an excellent addition to their 9-week 2019 Spring Programme.

We always feel so welcome to Printworks from the minute we step off the tube at Canada Water; friendly staff are always giving a helping hand guiding us to the 5000-capacity venue as we walk towards there without a worry or a google map in sight.

Needless to say, at any popular event there will be some form of queue however, we filtered very quickly through the lanes and were greeted by approachable security who made the experience a whole lot more enjoyable as they joked and laughed around with us.

Uplifting house is the word that comes to mind when we think about ‘Kaoz’. The Press Halls were filled with an eclectic energy filled with like minded ravers enjoying the soulful disco and rolling basslines of techno, the music played from all the artists was faultless.

An artist that stood out for us was none other than Mr G (LIVE). He played a phenomenal set in the Press Halls and with most of his set being unreleased music it was a breath of fresh air hearing unheard melodies and vocals that we could jam to. With bookings at Gather Festival and Junction 2 up his sleeve we are certain we will be seeing Mr G again.

Taking over was headliner Kerri Chandler. Our vision on music was completely changed after witnessing such a harmonious set. Actually, it would be wrong to call Kerri Chandler’s time at printworks a set, as it was a performance displaying his incredible mixing talents combined with his live acoustic piano.

This season sees a Funktion-One Resolution 4 System with F121 Bass from Sound Services installed into the smaller Dark Room which resonated through the grooves of Muallem, Grainger, Ceri & Moses. If a change of scenery mid rave is something for you then you will not be disappointed with this room. The intimate feel you get with the artist is second to none and you feel like you are right next to the artist vibing with them.

Overall, the full experience we had at ‘Kaoz’ was truly amazing. Putting Printworks – one of the world’s best venues – aside, the outstanding music played from all the artists really was the icing on the cake and is what made our day.
