THE SHOW:
For our next artist, we take over The Mill Digbeth’s Room 2 to create a strictly authentic underground tone. And as a recent graduate of the legendary Phonox LDN club, HAAi- is certainly equipped to fit the bill.

Her rugged, eclectic and globally-influenced selections bring an infectious energy to the room, exaggerated tenfold in her natural habitat: dark, intimate spaces with an extended set at her fingertips.

ABOUT HAAi:
Teneil Throssell arrived in London from Australia six years ago, when she was the lead singer of a psychedelic band called Dark Bells. She was an avid collector of Turkish funk, Nigerian and Kenyan beats, but was turned on to club music after a trip to Berlin’s famed Berghain club.

Throssell – who picked the name HAAi from a song by Indonesian group The Panthers – found herself a regular slot at Dalston’s low-key Ridley Road Market Bar, where she mixed her collection up with party-starting house and techno. In 2016 she caught the attention of the booker for Brixton’s Phonox, replacing Jasper James as its Saturday night resident.

Since then Throssell has gone from strength to strength, playing B2B with The Black Madonna at Sunfall Festival, at Oasis Festival in Marrakech, Lost Village Festival, Glastonbury Festival (official) and Bestival. She’s played Boiler Room Tel Aviv, Resident Advisor’s Brilliant Corners, Watergate Berlin, Pikes Ibiza B2B with Midland, Printworks London, the coveted Radio 1 Essential Mix and so much more.

Her own party series and label Coconut Beats has also earned her continued support from the likes of Mixmag, Resident Advisor, Boiler Room, plus more top-tier publications, and regular slots on Worldwide FM and Rinse FM radio platforms.
