Beautiful, sloping architecture, cosy bars and canal-lined streets are all central to Amsterdam’s enduring appeal. But once the sun goes down, the city comes into its own. Thanks to a progressive approach to nightlife, some of Amsterdam’s best venues have 24-hour licenses, making it one of Europe’s key spots for round-the-clock clubbing. It’s also home to some of the most important dates in the electronic music calendar, including Dekmantel Festival and annual industry gathering Amsterdam Dance Event – a five-day electronic music conference and festival held annually in mid-October. It is now the largest club festival of its kind in the world.
With over 100 nationalities, 2,500 artists, 600 speakers, 1000+ events in the heart of Amsterdam, we all gather in unison to celebrate dance music. The Amsterdam Dance Event never fails to bring in the crowds with world-famous established names on the line-up alongside an enormous list of rising stars. The playlist is always suitably diverse, featuring electro, acid, techno, trance, house, hip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass and other beat-filled sounds to make you move. With a huge number of events and parties taking place, this annual festival sees more than 140 locations across the city providing 5 days of guaranteed partying for in the region of 395,000 clubbers.
Not just a festival, each year, the Amsterdam Dance Event presents the ADE conference, with various streams and sessions covering every aspect of the music industry – perfect if you’re an aspiring musician, DJ or promoter looking to grow their skillset and understand the qualities needed within the business. The conference provides a platform for critical dialogue and debate while allowing delegates the chance to network, exchange expertise and keep on top of all the latest developments in the electronic music field.
