Popular nightclub Ministry of Sound has announced the opening of The Ministry – a private members’ club combined with a shared working space.
The new venture is set to open in a former Victorian warehouse on Borough Road this July, just a stone’s throw away from the existing nightclub in Elephant and Castle.
The site, designed by award-winning architects Squire & Partners, will contain a 70-foot bar spanning the entire ground floor.

There will also be four floors of private offices and shared working areas, as well as a full table service restaurant, 36-seater cinema, technology studio, sound proof production suites, and serviced meeting rooms where lunch can be ordered at the push of a button.

The Ministry will also have a large events space and year-round outdoor courtyard serving coffee and drinks to members and their guests.
Members are expected to include creative companies and those working in music, culture, media and technology.

Lohan Presencer, chairman of Ministry of Sound, said: “The people we grew up with are now the founders and CEOs of start-ups and established businesses.
“The Ministry is for these people, for independent creatives who light the sparks that become cultural wildfires.

The Ministry will be a stark contrast to the generic glass box offices, bored receptionists, bad coffee and gratuitous beer taps which have become synonymous with bland co-working spaces around the world.

“The Ministry is by creatives for creatives – music companies, film and TV producers, marketing agencies, PR companies, creative technology start-ups, fashion designers and the arts.”
